Our Founder's Expertise
Dr. Joseph Shanahan is not just a practitioner; he is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. With a dedication to providing comprehensive care, Dr. Shanahan earned his medical degree from the UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, receiving accolades such as membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Angelo P. Angelides Award for Excellence in Medicine.
A Legacy of Excellence
Boasting an illustrious career, Dr. Shanahan completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Fellow during his final year. Prior to establishing our practice, he contributed his expertise as an Associate at Carolina Arthritis Associates in Wilmington. Dr. Shanahan is currently an Assistant Consulting Professor in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology at Duke University Medical Center.
